Cougar Cubs Build and Play in igloo...

During the month of January into February, the Crest Ridge Preschool built and played in an igloo made of milk jugs. The milk jugs were donated by parents, staff, Teacher's Warehouse, and other community members. The igloo was built to use during a unit about winter and the Arctic region of the world. Books were read about Alaska and the northern regions. The children have had so much fun playing in the igloo that we have kept it up at least until the end of February! We also used "snow' in the area, stuffed polar animals, and other items to make it a little more realistic!
Our next step in this lesson will be discussing how we can recycle the milk jugs and that we actually have reused items that otherwise may have just been thrown away and not recycle- saving the earth just a little step at a time!
