A Note from Crest Ridge Elementary
August 27, 2010
The 2010-11 school year is off to a very successful beginning!! We were all very excited to hear that our school district met the state’s criteria for Annual Yearly Progress!! The MAP Test results will be sent home very soon with your student. The Crest Ridge Elementary staff worked very hard last year to ensure every student the best instruction. Our goals for this year have not changed! Our theme for the school is “Wild About Reading!”
Arrival Procedures
The school doors open at 7:45AM. Students eating breakfast at school enter the gym. Breakfast is served from 7:45AM to 8:10 AM. Bus riders enter the building from the east doors. Car Riders enter from the north doors. Our school is a caring school environment. Staff members greet students to ensure safety and a smile to begin the day! We encourage students to walk to class on their own to build self confidence. All staff members are supervising students at this time either in the classroom or hallways.
Dismissal Procedures
Bus Riders are dismissed at 3:00 PM. The Car Riders are dismissed as soon as the last bus leaves the parking lot. Car Riders exit the east doors and wait on the sidewalk until the last car in line stops. Please remain in your car. For your student’s safety we ask you follow this procedure.
Dental Care
Anyone interested in the Dental Care taking place at Crest Ridge Elementary may contact the school nurse, Jeana Rhoads at 660-656-3315 EXT. 111 for more information. This program offers dental care to students. The program is provided by local dentist. You may use insurance or be billed and Medicaid is accepted. Crest Ridge Elementary is provided this service through a grant. Please contact Jeana Rhoads if you are interested.
Student Handbook and Bus Rules
Every student received a Crest Ridge Elementary Handbook with a form for parents to sign and return to school. Please notify your child’s teacher if you have not received this information. We want every child to have every opportunity to learn and feel safe at school.
