Dear Crest Ridge Community,

Our goal at the Crest Ridge School District is to remain open so that we can serve the students of our community the best way we know how.  Many thought we would not make it very far into the school year, but this Friday concludes 8 weeks!  We desperately want our students to be in the classroom and remain active in clubs, sports and other school functions.  As of today Friday, October 16, 2020, we have had 9 positive cases of COVID-19 at the school that have required us to contact trace and quarantine 127 students and 6 staff members since our first day of school on August 24th.  Though this number seems alarming, we have neighboring schools that have many more cases and of positive tests and many more students that have had to quarantine.  We attribute this relative success to the fact that we are taking masking and social distancing seriously during the school day and at all school events.

The face covering for Johnson County was reissued on October 12th.  The order requires individuals to wear a face covering in any indoor public location including schools.  In addition, face coverings are required in outdoor public gathering places when social distancing is not an option. We ask that all staff, students, parents, patrons and visitors please continue to abide by this order at all school sanctioned events.  The fact is that if we do not mask and distance during school and at school functions, the number of quarantines will increase for each new positive case we have.  Please help us continue to remain open and keep our entire school community engaged by participating in all school functions.

Thank you and GO COUGARS!
