Service Projects

NJHS members will be assisting the Crest Ridge YBL board by working concession stands at both buildings. Members assist the board by setting up in the morning, working the concessions stands, running the game clock or keeping the game book, and cleaning up at the end of the day. Many of our members played in the YBL league in elementary school, and it's always nice to give back!

Eligibility & Membership

The National Junior Honor Society is comprised of students in the 8th and 9th grades. Students initially become eligible for membership during the fall of their 8th grade year based upon their cumulative middle school GPA. Anyone with a Grade Point Average of 3.86 or higher will receive a letter requesting information on their extracurricular activities and interests. Once that information is collected, the Faculty Council (comprised of Middle School teachers) will vote on membership based on the fundamental principles of the Honor Society: service, leadership, character, and citizenship. Students who are selected for membership will be notified and invited to attend the Induction Ceremony held each October. Eligibility will be reviewed periodically to ensure that students are maintaining the standards expected of NJHS members. Eligibility will also be reviewed for prospective members from the 8th and 9th grades each fall before the induction ceremony.
