Dear Crest Ridge Community,

The Crest Ridge Return to School & Response Plan is intended to provide the most recent safety and academic information to our entire school community as we enter into the 2020-21 school year.  The priority of the Crest Ridge School District is to provide the best education possible while keeping our students, staff and community safe.  The Crest Ridge Return to School & Response Plan is in part developed from the information we have received from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and our Johnson County Community Health Services Department.

In an effort to respond to the full scope of considerations of the COVID-19 pandemic, we hope that this document will help provide a better understanding of our commitment to the many areas within public education that deserve attention.  We also fully understand that guidance and expectations may change as conditions change.  We assure you that timely communication from the school district will occur in these circumstances.

Our current plan is to open school on August 24th providing onsite instruction.  This is illustrated by PLAN “A” in the academic information section of the plan.  There is also a virtual and homeschool option under plan “A” that is available for families.  As this reopening plan shows, we are fully prepared to implement safety protocols that our local health department deem necessary to keep everyone safe.  Plans B and C may need to be implemented at the district level if COVID related issues worsen or if directed by our local health or state government. In all cases, we will be available leading up to the school start date for assistance or questions that you may have.

Crest Ridge is fully prepared to adapt the best we are capable during these uncertain times.  We want to thank our entire community for continued support and look forward to the return of our staff and students.

Sincerely,

Brett Gray

Superintendent of Schools
