Crest Ridge Community,

We are excited to start the 2021-22 school year.  We are optimistic that we can expect a much more “normal” experience for students, staff and families as we approach the school start date of August 23rd, 2021.

In order to comply with federal regulations, Missouri school districts are required to post a “Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan.” Details are listed in the document following this message. Parts of this plan will look similar to the re-entry plan that was distributed last summer during the heights of COVID-19. We now know much more about how to combat the virus and district strategies will be outlined in the document. The document is much more simplistic now and will focus primarily on mitigation strategies and continuation of services should we find ourselves in a position to close the school doors for a period of time. These policies and protocols will be reviewed as conditions change and/or we meet at monthly board meetings.

The big question for most surrounds mask mandating.  Are we going to start the school year off with a mandate like last school year?  The answer is NO.  The Crest Ridge School District will only require masking while on a bus and when physical distancing is not possible indoors.  The “Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan" document defines physical distancing, close contacts and quarantine information as relayed to us by Johnson County Community Health Services on August 12th, 2021.

Please take the time read over the “Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan".  If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call any of our district offices with your questions.  We will do our best to help!
