Baseball gets the win Saturday night in the first round of district play 7-5 over Sweet Springs. The semi-final game is scheduled for Monday 5/17 at 5:00pm in Lincoln vs. Windsor.

After listening to a presentation by Kayla Frank and Megan VanHarn from our local animal shelter, Cougar Club 3rd-5th grade students discussed ways that they could help with overcrowding at the shelter. The students have started planning a service-learning project. This group has already made signs to display on the kennels of cats and dogs awaiting adoption at Old Drum. They have also been making braided dog toys that will be donated to the shelter.
During the week of May 17-21, the students will be hosting a donation drive for the Old Drum and Friends Animal Shelter. A donation area will be set up outside of the gym doors at the elementary. All CRE students are encouraged to participate.
On May 18 & 20, the students will be setting up a “Pet Shop” to raise money to purchase additional items from the donation list. The “Pet Shop” will be set up outside the elementary from 3:45-5:30 PM, weather permitting. Students will be selling their one-of-a-kind dog toys, handmade “treasures”, and refreshments.
Please contact Miss Katelyn if you have any questions.
