✨ Crest Ridge Senior Spotlight ✨ Student: Jon Becwar
Jon’s favorite high school memory is going to the Kansas City Farm Show during his junior year.
During his time at Crest Ridge, he has been involved in FFA.
He shares that Ms. Savage really made an impact on him, especially because he enjoyed her ELA classes.
His advice to younger Cougars is that even if you don’t plan on going to college, you should still work hard and keep your grades up—you never know what you’ll want in 4 years.
After graduation, John plans to enter the workforce and begin building his future. Looking ahead 10 years, he sees himself living a quiet life somewhere out in the country.
A fun fact about John is that he can bench press 400 pounds, but only when you're not looking.
His favorite quote to live by is: “I’m here for a good time, not a long time.”

FCCLA members visited the Warrensburg Veterans Home this past week. Members hand delivered homemade sweet treats and Valentines cards to each resident. Students enjoyed visiting and sharing stories with them. Early this winter, members also delivered pop tabs to the Ronald McDonald House in Kansas City. These pop tabs help fund programs and services for families with critically ill or injured children.

Mathletes! Sorry this is a bit delayed, but we need to recognize the HS math team's performance at the I-70 Math Relays. 13 students competed, and CR took 4th place overall. Addi Counts and Haylie Martens were named all-conference for their performances (only 11/12 graders are eligible). The freshmen team was 1st among 9th graders, and freshman Wyatt Brant deserves accolades; he entered 5 events (4 individual and 1 team) and placed first in 4 and second in the other. The sophomores placed second as a team and Cael Kenney placed first in Algebra among 10th graders.
Jenna’s favorite high school memory is any time she got to go on a field trip for FBLA.
During her time at Crest Ridge, she has been involved in softball, volleyball, and FBLA.
She shares that Mr. Laws and Mrs. Block made the biggest impact on her during her time at Crest Ridge.
Her advice to younger Cougars is simple: if you choose to do something, make sure you have fun doing it.
After graduation, Jenna plans to attend State Fair.
Looking ahead 10 years, she sees herself flipping houses.
A fun fact about Jenna is that she doesn’t know how to swim and is scared of deep water.
Her favorite quote is: Any word she has ever said.

After learning about greenhouses in class, our kindergarten students took a short field trip to the high school to see a real greenhouse for themselves. A little impromptu real world learning happening today!
