On Friday, the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) conducted their second annual 8th Grade Leadership Workshop! Participants engaged in collaborative team-building exercises designed to enhance problem-solving skills toward shared objectives. 2022 Crest Ridge graduate, Brendan Hursh, shared insights on how leadership development through FBLA and other school programs positively impacted his professional career and personal growth. Mr. Laws provided incoming students with guidance regarding high school expectations and highlighted benefits of the A+ program. Current FBLA President Nick Cunningham and future President, Madison Weeks, presented on the organization's value during and beyond high school years, while Mrs. Russell outlined Business Department curriculum options. The event successfully combined engaging activities with valuable leadership education, equipping students with essential skills as they transition to high school!

While pre-enrolling for her 2025-2026 courses, Laney took the opportunity to talk through career options and make informed decisions about how to finish her high school path strong. Laney is interested in becoming a realtor, and we were able to connect her with a local expert—Darcy from Homes By Darcy! Darcy shared first-hand insight into the day-to-day life of a realtor and gave Laney helpful tips on which high school courses would best support her goals. It’s never too early—or too late—to start these conversations!

We are very proud of these juniors who were finalists in the West Central Electric essay contest. Crest Ridge represented 4 out of the 6 students who submitted essays and won from surrounding schools. Savanna Bramwell, Kegan Walsh, and Landen Nelson are going to the Rural Electric Youth Tour conference in Jefferson City. Ashlyn Kolb was in the top 3, and won an all-expense paid trip to Washington D.C. to see the sights, and attend the Cooperative Youth Conference and Leadership Experience (CYCLE.) The essay contest is a yearly event for all juniors, thanks to West Central Electric.
