On Friday, FBLA hosted our 1st 8th Grade Leadership Workshop! 8th graders were divided into 4 groups and visited stations that involved using teamwork and leadership skills, led by our fearless FBLA members! In preparation for their freshmen year, Mr. Laws spoke with students about the benefits of the A+ program and how to stay eligible for that opportunity in their early years of high school. Our guest speaker, Mr. Weeks, discussed what it means to be a leader and why those qualities are so important as they begin their high school careers and especially into adulthood. FBLA can't wait to see the leaders that emerge from the Class of 2028!

Huge shout-out to Central Bank, who brought in a financial simulation called "Reality Check" this past Thursday! Seniors and Personal Finance students were handed a scenario that included their career, marital status, family size and monthly income and proceeded to 'buy' insurance, groceries, child care, utilities and other real life expenses based on their income. Some students had money left at the end of their month and others had to get second jobs to make ends meet! It was an entertaining learning experience for everyone involved and we are grateful that Central Bank was willing to bring this to Crest Ridge!
